Chief Operations Officer (COO) CPA

Curaçao Ports Authority N.V. (CPA) has been the central coordinating force behind port activities for more than 40 years. It manages all ports in Curaçao, owns the container and cruise terminals, and leases port-related properties to private operators. CPA also coordinates pilotage, oversees vessel movements, and is responsible for the ports’ commercial development and international promotion.

• Responsible for translating the organization’s strategic objectives into concrete operational plans and ensuring their successful implementation and execution.
• Responsible for all operational activities within the port (including maritime services, infrastructure, maintenance, and logistics), ensuring efficiency, quality, and continuity.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with national and international laws and regulations, and for implementing standards in the areas of safety, environment, quality, and security.
• Leads the operational organization, manages teams, develops talent, and builds a high-performing, result-driven culture.
• Maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders and works closely with the CEO, CCO and other departments to achieve organizational goals.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Maritime Studies, Logistics or a related field.
• 5-7 years in a senior operational leadership role preferably within ports, maritime, logistics, or infrastructure
• Proven track record in translating strategy into operational execution, driving performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, safety, environmental, and compliance standards.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with government entities, external- and international partners.
